The Sri Japji Sahib Short Course aims to provide complete information on the rules of pronunciation and punctuation of Sri Japji Sahib with simple meanings.

The Course is dedicated
towards 550th Parkash Dihara of Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji. It is our humble effort to provide a platform for every Sikh to fulfil his/her goal of life to learn the Sri Japji Sahib as their commitment towards the 550th anniversary of Sri Guru Nanak Dev ji Parkash Dihara.

Whatever age, it’s never too late or too early to reconnect to the very first bani in Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji. This 8 weeks short course will allow the student to learn the pronunciation and punctuation of Sri Japji Sahib Ji. It also covers discussion on
simple meaning of Sri Japji Sahib. The Academy encourages the students to memorize the Sri Japji sahib and the lecturer will provide helpful tips to aid the process of memory.

At the end of the course, you will gain a thorough appreciation of the pronunciation rules that are applicable
in reading Gurbani in the most simple and effective way. This effectively changes the way Gurbani reading was traditionally thought.

The entire syllabus is prepared based on the reading guide recommended by Sri Akal Takhat Sahib, Amritsar and as practiced in Sri Harmandir Sahib, Amritsar. This book marks the first ever such course presented in
modular form.

For those who are Gurmukhi illiterate, students will start and complete the Learn Gurmukhi in 3 months course and then proceed to the Sri Japji Sahib Course. Individuals who have basic Gurbani reading literacy will proceed directly to the Sri Japji Sahib Course with a short reaffirmation of Muharni as a refresher.

We would like to stress that this is a modest attempt to contribute to the Sikh community and whilst every effort has been taken to ensure that the quality and accuracy of the information is of the highest standards, there is still room for improvements.

We also look forward to your valuable feedback so that we can improve this 1st edition.   We are a very young group and thus have a lot to learn and improve.  It is only with the Blessings of our beloved
